5 Ways to Make Your St. Patrick's Day Diabetic Friendly

5 Ways to Make Your St. Patrick's Day Diabetic Friendly

Hey friends Dr. Oscar buzzing in to give you some helpful tips on making your St. Patty’s Day parties with a little less sugar.

St. Patty's Day

  1. Instead on emphasizing on treats and candy, make a craft project like Shamrock Suncatcher or styrofoam leprechaun hats.

  2. When your a child, of course your going to have a St. Patty’s Day party. However instead of bringing juice and soda try bringing mini sized water bottles, or my granddaughters favorite CapriSun roaring waters.

  3. In this day and age if you really were wanting to bring juice or candy, everything comes in sugar free, even fat free which helps take the pressure off of not standing out.

  4. Before you start eating that cookie or cupcake, sit down with an adult and count your carbs only for what you’re going to eat. If you decided to have seconds do the same thing, this way your hopefully contributing to less low or high blood sugars.

  5. Instead of bringing cupcakes or cookies for treats, bring smalls bags of goldfish or even shamrock pencils and erasers .
